I am Tessa Elrod- a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, Chartered Special Needs Consultant®, and the owner of Next Step Divorce Solutions, LLC.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University and have spent my career in the financial services industry helping individuals and families make informed financial decisions. Throughout my career, I have seen how overwhelming divorce can be — especially when financial questions, property division, long-term security, and future planning all collide at once.

My work with women navigating life after divorce opened my eyes to a common and deeply important concern: many individuals enter the divorce process without the financial clarity they need to make confident decisions. Too often, property settlements are negotiated without a full understanding of the short- and long-term financial impact.

That realization inspired me to create Next Step Divorce Solutions

Through my work as a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, my mission is to bring clarity to an otherwise complicated and emotional process. My role is to serve as a steady guide — translating financial complexity into clear, practical insight so clients can make informed choices during one of life’s most significant transitions.

I am also deeply committed to supporting families who have children with special needs. As the big sister of a brother with special needs, I understand firsthand both the daily realities and the long-term planning challenges these families face. This personal experience fuels my passion for helping families become better informed about available resources, government assistance programs, and the importance of properly structuring divorce settlements in a way that considers special needs planning.
